Dr Nick Jackson trained in Haematology in the West Midlands and at the Royal Free Hospital in London.  He undertook his doctoral research in myeloma immunophenotyping and cell culture with Dr Ian Franklin and Dr Noel Ling in Birmingham. He has had two spells teaching and researching clinical and laboratory haematology at medical schools in Malaysia, 1991-97 and 2015-19.  In between those, he was a consultant haematologist at University Hospital Coventry where he focused on laboratory and red cell haematology, and blood transfusion.  

Alongside his current role at the Whitfield St TDL lab, he is working in the Red Cell Disorders Unit at University College Hospital.  He has more than 50 publications in scientific journals.
